Study Program of Architecture Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) in collaboration with the Department of Architecture , Faculty of Civil Engineering and Built Environment, University Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) held a series of Islamic Architecture Webinar consisting of 5 events. The events presented Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nangkula Utaberta as the keynote speaker presenting the main topic and Dr. Widyastuti Nurjayanti delivering introductory topics to aim the participants who do not have basic knowledge of Islamic Architecture in understanding the main material with different topics for each meeting.

The first event was held on July 25, 2021 with the main topic entitled Contribution of Islamic Architecture to Islamic Misconceptions to review various inappropriate views on Islamic Architecture related to historiography, ideas about architecture, ideas about religious architecture, and ideas about civilization, which opened with an introductory topic entitled Implementation of Islamic Architecture Concepts in Design. Followed by the second event on July 30 2021, the main topic presented Islamic Housing in Malaysia: Returning to the Humanitarian Agenda which began with the delivery of an introductory topic entitled Islamic Architecture in Empirical. The third meeting was conducted on July 31 2021 with the title of introductory topic on Islamic Art in Buildings and continued with the delivery of the main topic entitled Mosques: Typology, Institutions, and Centers for Community Development. The fourth session was conducted on July 9 2021 as a part of Engineering Talks #6 series which is a Serial Webinar program by the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta . At this event, the main topic was entitled Modern Architecture: Discussion of Values ​​and Teaching for Islamic Architecture. It was opened with an introductory material topic about Contribution of Islamic Architecture in the Time of the Covid-19 Pandemic. On July 16 2021, the last session was held with introductory topic on the Position of Value-Based Islamic Architecture Theory and continued with the delivery of the main topic entitled Towards Value-Based Islamic Architecture: A Thinking Forward.

Each session of the Islamic Architecture Webinar series was running extensively, starting at 07.00 WIB until 10.00 WIB attended by around 300 participants from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Europe including lecturers, researchers, architectural practitioners, civil workers, and students from the undergraduate and post graduate level. It is hoped that this series with a broad topics covering from conceptual issues of a philosophical nature to methodological and practical designs could trigger and spur the development of interest, discourse and study of Islamic Architecture in Indonesia, especially from the realm of science and its application in the current architectural profession.
